Water Transmission Main Update - 10-19-2012

Construction of the new County Line Road Water Transmission Main for BCWSA continues. This project will proceed along approximately 7 miles of County Line Road from Valley Road in Warminster Township to Pine Road in Lower Southampton Township.  The project is broken into two Contracts with Contract W95-A running from Valley Road to Centennial Road and Contract W95-B running from Centennial Road to Pine Road.

Work on Contract W95-A  is continuing and being  performed between the hours of 9 AM and 3 PM.  Contractors will be performing soil borings,  as well as exploratory excavations (aka soft digs) to locate existing utilities in the path of the new Transmission Main.  Equipment is also starting to be staged throughout their portion of the project.

Work on Contract W95-B is continuing and being performed between the hours of 8 PM and 5 AM.  During this week, Contractors will be performing exploratory excavations (aka soft digs) to locate existing utilities in the path of the new Transmission Main.   They will also be performing  saw cutting in preparation of installation of the water main . Equipment is also starting to be staged throughout their portion of the project.

Actual construction / installation of the Transmission Main is not planned to begin during this week. Drivers should expect some traffic interruptions during the referenced time periods at various locations along the entire path of the project.  Road closures will begin on October 21, 2012 in the areas of Second Street Pike and Pine Road.   Adjacent residents and businesses will also experience construction noise. We note; however,  that although the total project may take 4 to 6 months to complete, it may only be ongoing for a week or so in the immediate vicinity of any individual home or business.
